SUMMARY:ManySecured Working Group with Guest speaker: Hiran Ravat\, Head of IoT Business Development and Partnerships at CSL Group
DESCRIPTION:Agenda \nGuest speaker: Hiran Ravat\, Head of IoT Business Development and Partnerships at CSL Group followed by Q & A \nSBOMs (Software Bill of Materials) provide a way to describe the functional sub components of a software system. Their usage is increasingly being “required” by governments to increase transparency and provide improved cyber protections. NquiringMinds are developing a tool (soon to be open sourced) that will help navigate the relationship between SBOM components and vulnerabilities (CVES). The goal is to provide comparable metrics on the safety of systems\, with a particular focus on measuring the impact of memory safety interventions. \nWe will be giving a brief overview of the tool’s development to date\, and inviting input on future features and indeed potential collaborators. \nDr. Nick Allott will provide updates on working group projects and policies. \nPlease contact James Willison for registration details at james.willison@techworks.org.uk \n\nWe encourage you to join our slack channel to participate in the project.\n\n\nSlack invite: https://join.slack.com/t/manysecured/shared_invite/zt-1t1f6j582-y1Lvi0aEoItd2_EtvuGVCA

SUMMARY:IoTSF June Webinar: Engineering Trustworthy AI
DESCRIPTION:Register for FREEEngineering Trustworthy AI\nArtificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative technologies of our time. It has the potential to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems\, however\, it also poses risks and in recent years as the field has exploded\, there have been growing concerns about those risks. \nElon Musk\, for example\, has warned that AI could be potentially more dangerous than nuclear weapons. With two prominent experts in the field\, Dr. Nick Allott and Professor Subramanian Ramamoorthy\, this Zoom webinar will explore how we can engineer AI systems so that they are trustworthy. \nThis event is delivered in partnership with TechWorks connected communities IoT Security Foundation (IoTSF)\, Automotive Electronic Systems Innovation Network (AESIN) and Technology Network for Embedded Systems (TechNES). It is an open event for members and guests. \nSarb Sembhi\nCo-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Working Group and IoTSF Executive Steering Board Member \nSarb is the  CTO for Virtually Informed\, and had several CISO roles. He speaks\, writes and contributes to many events and publications. He was shortlisted for the CSO30 2021 Awards\, and was shortlisted 5 in the IFSecGlobal 2020 20 Most Influential People in Security. He is a mentor for start-ups and a board advisor\, as well as Co-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Group and Executive Steering Board member of the IoTSF. \nJames Willison\nCo-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Working Group \nIn March 2022\, James Willison joined IoTSF as Project and Engagement Manager\, and is co Chair of the IoTSF Smart Built Environment Working Group. He has campaigned for over twenty years to bring the cyber and physical security realms closer together. He works with Sarb Sembhi on the IFSEC Converged Security Centre and on Smart City Security White papers. He has been an Advisor on Convergence to the Mitie TSM Board\,  a senior lecturer in Security Management at Loughborough University and a Digital Security Expert with the European Union. He is also a volunteer leader with ASIS International on Enterprise Security Risk Management.
